    D. Edward Hays to Appear in Southern California Super Lawyers 2012

    Marshack Hays LLP is pleased to announce that D. Edward Hays has been selected for inclusion in Southern California Super Lawyers 2012.  Recognition in this publication is a well-deserved honor attained by no more than 5% of the lawyers in California.  Super Lawyers magazine is distributed in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., reaching more than 13 million readers.

    City of Laguna Woods Elevates Cynthia Conners To Mayor Pro Tem

    We are pleased to congratulate Cynthia Conners on her election to the position of Mayor Pro Tem, City of Laguna Woods. She is a busy associate attorney at our firm and brings over twenty-seven years of experience to her practice at Marshack Hays LLP. Her election as Mayor Pro Tem by her fellow Council Members after a relatively short time on the City Council is not surprising given her passion for public service and her commitment to community issues. “I enjoy my work as member of the City Council,” said Ms. Conners, “and we have an excellent City Manager and an excellent staff that allow us to focus primarily on policy and oversight.”

    It is not surprising to the partners at the firm or to her co-workers that Ms. Conners maintains an active law practice while also serving her City. “If you look at her background,” offered Richard Marshack, “you’ll see that she has always had a public service component to go with her professional work.     Newsletter – Spring 2010

    Marshack Hays LLP has continued to grow and achieve excellent results for its clients. With the additions of Cynthia S. Conners and George C. Huang, our firm is currently comprised of six attorneys and ten support staff including several paralegals. The Firm has also become a member of the Irvine Chamber of Commerce.

    The Firm’s Bankruptcy Department continues to represent creditors, creditor committees, debtors, and trustees in a wide variety of bankruptcy proceedings. We have obtained significant recoveries in numerous cases involving fraudulent and preferential transfers, and are actively representing several bankruptcy trustees to recover and liquidate assets for the benefit of creditors. The Firm also has filed numerous Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases for individuals and companies needing bankruptcy relief.

    The Firm’s Litigation Department has successfully prosecuted, and continues to pursue, numerous mortgage and real estate fraud cases. Richard A. Marshack and Ed Hays have presented numerous seminars dealing with current issues and hot topics in Bankruptcy law, including the following:
